regardless of budget, the 3 most important upgrades to the blaster are: pipe, porting, and head modification.
doesn't matter if you get the 240 kit or stick w/ the stock bore, you HAVE to get the right pipe and porting combo. and of course head work is integral to balancing out the port work.
a good cheapo mod is to remove the airbox lid and rejet the carb to accomodate the increased air flow. next up will be a good set of reeds and a better reedcage. i like the vforce3, but apparently, the vforce2 is better. my vforce3 is en route to angus kennedy right now to be ported to allow more flow. the reedcage also gives much better throttle response.
i highly recommend angus at kennedy_power for any kind of engine work. he's formally educated and has endless experience in the shop.
next you can upgrade the carb and think about stroking the crank.
and of course, the k&n or uni filter is critical.
