ok i was wondering what it actualy does i know a bunch of people have advanced there timing on here but what does it actualy do

Advanced timing makes everything respond faster than it normally would.....you should only do it a few degrees according to your bore or call vitos toll free line they have amazing specifications for blasters

Timing advance is only going to do so much...if you want some genuine and generous power increase cut,or get cut a squish band head and "Hold on tight"!

If you don't have the cash for a squish band head advanced timing is a good rout to go in my book

hooray!!! some one has a lathe and is ALL About Squish Band!!! hallelujah!!!! im Sooo Proud of you...Yes i am...

anyways... i run mine +3 and have No complaints! id run a +4 but, its been Hot and the number one thing you have to watch out for is detonation. check it out, in the search...+4 Mod. good info with some good reading...

I was never really impressed with timing advanceing these blasters. all it dos is ignite the combustion sooner which dosnt really make you much for power, but it will tend to bring the tourque/power curve down a smudge. my oppinion dont waste your time like joe said get the head cut first then dial it in with timing.
imo timeing is like jetting after your making more power and changing how the engine works you should adjust it to supreme. on a stock motor i felt it was a waste to mod the stator to advance. WHAT ABOUT RETARD THE TIMING NOBODY SAYS ANYTHING BOUT THIS!!!!!

It is not that you get an increase in power from a + timing mod, it brings the power on at a lower rev.

Used with a pipe that favours low/mid and a reed spacer block between the reeds and jug, the power comes on at a much lower rev.

It is advisable to raise the octane level to avoid detonation.

Don't know too much about retardation of 2 strokes, Never been down that route, but I could share some experiences about 4 pokes.

Triplecrown, could you give us some insight on retardation of 2 strokes.
