Hey guys Im about to buy my first Blaster and it looks like there are some super knowledgeable people here, so any advice would be awesome. The Blaster I am about to buy is an 04; bored .040 over, has a +3mm stroker crank, it has Boyesen reeds, and a DG silencer. What should be my first moves in building? Thanks in advance.

Are you asking what mods to do next?
if so, sell that dg silencer, pick up a full pipe, not a dg.
Grab a uni airfilter or a k&n whichever you prefer.

now if you want to spend money theres:
240kits
porting
carbs
head redesign
good pipes
but you cant forget about the blaster suspension.

Thanks for quick response.Yeah, I had almost considered new wheels and tires because alot of what I have read places emphasis on the handling before more power. Which pipe set would you recommend?

well if you plan on doing anything else, i would get a dynoport, shearer, ct racing, lrd.
dyno port high volume & the vitos fat bastard are basically 240 pipes.
a full fmf pipe or procircuit pipe is good for a relatively stock motor and fairly cheap to.
If your running the stock 22" rear tires i highly recommend switching to some flat top track style tires, much better handling.
if your looking at new rims, get some with a wider offset, that will make the blasty not so tippy.

Yeah, I found the FMF and Procircuit for pretty decent prices. I prolly wont get to do the 240 for a while, so one of those should be good for now? If you had 350 to spend what would you do? Thanks man.

Ok, so a header pipe, air filter, outerwear (removing the lid), and back tires if possible? What size tires are good for stock rims?

well if you do all trails id get some 22's
other wise stick with 20's there pretty decent i couldn't imagine having 18's on the back that would be like 2" of ground clearance
i found a guy on ebay that sells outerwears airbox covers for 20 bux.
his ebay id is tasclassicmotorsports

Specialized7, thanks man you have been awesome...thanks to everybody else too, keep the advice coming...ill keep everybody updated with what I do...

yeah i think im gonna take off the stock nerf bars to make better clearance for the holeshots that are on it...toomey looks like really good exhaust, thanks...

The guy with the 04 decided he wanted more for his. I bought a 98 completely stock, balloon tires and all, still has oil injection. Does this sound like a good list of first mods oil injection block off, K&N Filter, EHS Racing Lid, Dynojet Jet Kit, and Holeshot XCR's on rear?

before doing any of those engine mods i would get a pipe first...
still do the block off kit.
and dont get dyno jets there junk.. get genuin mikuni jets..

ok...I am really new to the whole Blaster thing, so im just asking, but do you not need more air coming in to the motor before you can push more out? What pipe do you recommend?

Ok awesome, because I am wanting to do the 240 kit down the road. Would you say do widening kit, swingarm and axle or do those performance mods first?

i would try working on the suspension before any serious motor work, it does no good running like maniac if u cant stay on the ride, stock suspension is horrible
