A little bit of play in the front steering column

i can move mine up and down a bit even with the nut fully tight... any ideas?

throw a washer or 2 under the nut......should help out with that play bro

might have cranked it down to tight.....use double nuts to lock it in place when it moves freely, but has no play in it....if ya get what i mean bro

ok i will give that a try, its kinda annoying to feel the extra play when hitting rocks and logs..

to be honest I don't think there is a point in buying a new bushing because it is all plastic sh*te anyway. Unless you can buy an aftermarket one which doesn't wear I will be sticking with the originals for now.

just order a newer (03+) used one on ebay, i just saw some for under $5, or new rubbers from bikebandit if you cant see wear in the "bearing" hahaaa, look at the little lip from the top and bottom, it should be equal the whole way around

Did the new stem fix the play on the bottom by the inner tie rods? I've been wondering if there is a replaceable bushing that goes into the frame itself... Should there be any play at all on a new bushing assembly for the upper portion of the stem?
