this is why you should port your jug rite, i got mine back with sharp edges on the intake and exaust ports and sadly ignored them -.-.... its been a while since ive took these pics but still its a reminder of why to get it ported rite.... it was me and my buddy dueuce ridin down a road when the blaster started sputtering and i stopped and it cut out, and never cranked again, we pushed it back to the house and this is what we get.....

.....Who ported it?

You gottah chamfer the ports but it also looks like you were running lean/hot and seized it a lil which didn't help.

Man what a shame,so you just got it done and then that,I'll tell you what though if I see something not rite in my cylinder when I get it back I'll make sure to just fix those imperfections my self and give the joker that did it wrong a call back, sorry to see that happen to ya man hope you get it back up and running soon bud.

Yea, kind of what I was thinking as well. Typically not chamfering windows leads more to the ring breaking rather than steadily wearing into the cylinder and piston....not that it's impossible, but it was likely running lean.

Before you put the engine back together, if you didn't already, bypass the oil pump. That could be one of the reasons your top end was like that when you pulled it, oil pump was failing and it was running lean. They fail and when they do its not just a cheap oil pump you have to replace, its the engine... and thats not so cheap. I run mix in all my 2 strokes, even my Yamaha G1 golf cart. If your cheap and don't wanna buy the kit then you can just remove the side case and remove the little plastic gear that turns the pump and then drain your tank. After that plug the oil inlet on the carb and premix your gas. I run 32:1 on my all stock engine, and its perfect.

I had a cylinder bored buy a well known local car engine machinest. I noticed no edges were beveled, so I did it. I next rebuild i took it to a motor cycle engine machine shop. All edges were beveled and the piston fit cylinder better, I had a slight rattle before. I will forever take my bike engines to a bike shop to get machine work. I learned my lesson.

yes as several have said...that is a heat issue...either lean or air leak...I vote air leak..did u do a leakdown before u rode it?

no......... ugh........ ima get it rite nxt time, thanks for the symphany tho........look at me with all these sophisticated words, there it is again... man i really need to chill wit the big words.......
