1. When I start up my blaster it smokes kinda bad for just a minute then after that is doesn't smoke no more then what I would think is normal for a 2 stroke. Is that just the left over oil in the crank burning off from the last time I rode or would it be something else?? Crank seals were just replaced also and I've been checking oil level and it hasn't been getting low.

2. When I first start my blaster after letting it warm up a little if I take off and give it all it's got it wants to spit and sputter like its missing or not firing right. After the motor gets up to temp after riding a little this goes away and throttle response is normal and it doesn't act up anymore.

Here is what i'm running

270 mail jet in carb
just put a brand new set of v force 3 reeds in last week to see if that was the problem and is helped some and made a big difference in performance
air box lid is on
32-1 pre mix with 93 octain gas

seems normal

the smoke when you first start is perfectly normal almost all 2-strokes do itI:I
the spitting and sputtering sounds like its still waiting to warm up you may want to adjust your pilot air screw but be careful not to lean it out to far or youll over heat and cause damage to your top end. but if its not a problem when it warms up id leave it alone

don't know if this can make a big difference but I changed to AMS oil on the tank of gas a put in today and it seemed to run a lot better... can different kinds of 2 stroke oil make it run better like that???

YEP!!!, I switched from BelRay H1R to REDLINE and it was amazing how much the difference was!

One thing that some people do not understand is that these motors need to warm up before you jump on them. The cylinders and pistons need to expand together or they will cold sieze to one another and damage will occurr.

Good rule to follow is to blip the throttle untill you can no longer rest your hand on the side of the cylinder, then start your ride.

also when you put your bike away for the day the suspended premix on the cylinder walls piston and rings etc.. will slowly disapate down in to the crankcase area over time ,so when you fire your bike up again it draws this collection up and tries ot burn it off initially... synthetic oils wit h a higher flash point will take longer to get burnt out of the engine as the rpms and internal heat must rise to accomplish this likewise if your premix is mixed rich like 28-1 it will obviously tend to have more oil ot burn out nex t time you fire her up.thats why a strong spark and porper jetting really can cure cold blooded bikes that are anemic in lowend and smoke a ton

My bike doesn't smoke bad at all then it gets warmed up.. just about the first minute it will smoke and then after that just a VERY little unless I just really get on it hard then it will blow some smoke out but not anything bad
