hi, by the way thanx for all the info on my last thread. i noticed after an oil change that there is a leak on the left side of the motor, i cant be sure but i think its leaking from the gear shifting kick lever. i notice that the seal is pulled a millimeter away from the lever. isnt it supposed to be tight around the lever shaft going into the motor? do i have to crack the case to replace it? and i think i have a crank seal leak would that cause run-ability problems and do i have to crack the case for that? again thanx for all the info.

If I'm reading your post right you don't have to crack the cases for either of those issues
Crank seals will cause running problems symptoms are a lot of white smoke, bogging, and dieing without throttle

if a seal shows cracks its time to replace it, no need to split the case, make sure you grease up the new seals when you replace them, makes them last longer
