which one should i get, im thinking about getting a trx right now because i wanna xc race some more if i got one it would be a kicker model. Then the yfz on the other hand i want to xc race with and they seem more easier to control, but not as reliable as the 450r. and the ltr is the last on my mind, i would just like one because they are super fast so i can get killed on it, and also race it lol.

i was at my local dealers today to get some maxima oil,
and looked at 3-450's sittin side by side, the kfx and yfz both had similar designed front suspension with the single lower tube, making the botttom a-arm mounts very close together, and top mounts out further,
bottom a-arms longer than the tops
which i beleive has a very desireable effect of better suspension geometry.

the yfz had the longest bottom a-arms of the 3 < longer travel ???
but the kfx also had a full aluminum frame,

the trx had the same old twin tube bottom frame, with almost equal length a-arms top/bottom, much like our outdated geometry

i did not see an ltz in the line-up ?, funny thing is cernics was originally a suzuki only dealer, but now carries all brands,
and they haven't had a ktm quad on the floor in some time, though they have every bike ktm makes ???

from what i saw today, all 2012/13's,
solely based on my love of great suspension..........
i'd go yfz, then kfx a close second choice

see the thing is im not gonna be buying a brand new one, looking for a used one with some mods. everbody i know that xc races has a 450r or yfz, its gonna be a tough choice between the two

i'd let condiition and price be the deciding factor then

why do you want a kicker model trx? i have heard they are slower then the 06+ ER models. the 06+ comes with a 12:1 piston and they will ride like a bat outta hell. that should make up for the weight difference if that's why you're going with it.

the 450r that i might get is a 05 kicker model, i hear they are way faster. This one has, burgard +2 a arms ( not the best for woods racing) namura piston, pro circuit pipe, dura blue axle, hot cam, pro circuit exhaust ( probably change to a sparks if i get it ), dg bumper, nerf bars, and rear beadlocks it looks like ( wasnt mentioned in the mods they told me)

that would be a good start, if you get it try to sell the a arms and put some newer stocker a arms on or some stock length aftermarket a arms, for woods racing you'll wanna get some beadlocks of itp baja wheels with the least offset possible on the front, alot of guys i know run a 400ex in the rear and a very inset front wheel when they do xc, you'll wanna get a good xc tire combo. the biggest thing with xc racing is suspension, yeah its nice to have power, but in all reality, its better to have a smoother bike that you can be comfortable on for 3+ hours than it is to have a arm ripping quad with not so great suspension that beats you around, i know a guy that has had great sucess with having the stock suspension reworked, you'll also wanna get some good skid plates as xc racing is hell on the underside of the bike, gearing is another thing that isn't too much of an issue, but you wanna be able to ride the quad comfortably without having to ride the clutch too much in slow sections and not having to shift too much in faster sections.... thats about all i know about xc, as i know a few guys that race the ironman here in indiana, also a nice oversized fuel tank does wonders, haha
