poconos pa.
Anyone have a pic of a 400 ex shock mounted? If so What are you using for a bushing on the bottom? I don't want to just mount metal to metal.

I make the bushings for the top and can do something for the bottom also if you need them. I can tell you that I'm running this set-up in three of my quads and I'm not seeing any wear. The Blaster lower pin is 12mm so I would think the bottom of the shock would need to be opened up to 16mm so the bushing wall would be like .080 thick. It's your call. Let me know if you need somthing made.

Get o,connors bushings for the top and don't be nervous about the bottom mount,it will hold up fine and they are designed that way from the factory.

The bottom is set on a linkage from the factory on a 400ex and that linkage has a bushing. So no there not set up for this from the factory.

dually got nuetered................

What I'm thinking is when I weld a mount back on the swing arm I'm going to use the right bushing in a piece of DOM tubing then weld that to the swing arm slide the shock over it and it would work like the factory set up just no linkage.

Thanx a friend of mine is going to make the bushing and I'll just use a stock steel sleeve and then a set of Oconnors top shims and it will work like new.

So R2 you are going to weld a sleeve across the bottom? Take pics if you do- I may do this also.

Yes that is the plan. I can't stand when things start getting loose on my quads. When i had my banshee after 2 years the upper right A-arm started getting a little wiggle so off the ones came and on went the lonestar arms. Then from there I went nuts on that bike. I don't like having the clunk noise when going down the trails. I like to ride fast and I don't need things breaking.

Rodger that...I hate anything that rattles or clunks -I've been known to pull whole car doors apart to find a squeak.8-|
