so i just ordered a kfx400 rear shock and KOR bushings and when i go to adjust the shock and dial it in i have no idea what im doing, my question is what ussually needs to be adjusted? im 150ish pounds

Find the manual for that quad, it should have stock clicker settings and tuning/rebuild info. I would start with stock settings and go from there.

^^^^ good post that should say it all.. best upgrade for rear suspension for the$$$ hands down.

Can you use your phone? You will have to use something with sound.

Plug in your Xbox controller with the headset again... That's how you got sounds when I videoed my quad...

i dont have a smartphone, i just have a regular old flip phone ,remember those? lol :p

and my wired xbox controller broke, it just doesent even turn on anymore so i tossed it

i hate that song haha, but yeah its mostly the computer, i have speakers but there not compatible which is stupid but whatever ill watch it eventually

I had a beer with that guy once, he used to be at the Kirkland Pub every Thursday before they dozed it and turned it in to a retirement home :( The video just explains that a 400 shock:
a. is longer
b. has preload adjustment like a Blaster shock so you can set your race sag
c. has adjustment for rebound and compression damping unlike a Blaster shock
d. says to tune these adjustments or "clickers" by setting them in the middle of fast and slow (usually there is somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 clicks) and tuning them from there (dont force the clickers once they are at the end of their travel) full fast is very little damping (think pogo stick) full slow is usually no bueno either.
e. is rebuildable, you can have a suspension shop service it and tailor it to your needs

now go find some speakers so you can bump your favorite song

Thrift Shop (feat. Wanz) - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (traducida en Español) - YouTube

thanks for the info, so it goes 20 clicks? so to have it in the middle do 10 clicks for both adjustments?

It could be 20 or 25, you're going to have to experiment and find out. The manual for the bike that shock came off will tell you stock settings but they are just a base line, experiment with the settings and you will be glad you did. Find a open section of trail (like a set of whoops leading into a jump) and keep running it as you make incrimental changes, you should end up with a bike you feel faster and more comfortable on.

i just want to get it to the stock settings, this will also be nice to have this shock since the blaster shock is designed for a kid right? thats why it sags down so much when i ride it?

You can set the sag rate on your stock shock too. You swap the rear shock cause much like the front ones they are a POS. You will now have a fully adjustable, longer travel shock. They actually absorb the shock unlike the stock one.
