400 ex bushings

well as for the bushings you have to get them from Ken, well worth it by the way.
as for the factoy bolt Ken used his lathe to turn the stocke down to the right size, but you can use a grade 8 bolt for it as well

if you measure up correctly, you can have your own bushings made at any engineeing place, thats what i did because shipping across the pond from ken wasnt worth it.

$35 shipped I think it was from Oconnor for the bushings and bolt when I got mine. There is NO guesswork with them. Just put them in and reuse you nut and washer. Perfect fit no play. He makes these specifically for this reason. If you go somewhere else they may be able to make them for you but it is likely going to cost just as much and who knows if they will fit perfectly. they are going to go by your measurements and if you are off a little and they dont fit then you have to pay for another set. Just my opinion but this is one part I would stick with proven materials and supplier.

ur not gonna find them at any hardware store. i think ken had them down to 18 buxs shipped for board members ? u cant have them made any cheaper then that.

ok, but whats the downfall of not running the bushing in the shock? and what is the diameter of the bottom shock bolt and the top? in american sizes?

Holes in the frame are too big for the top shock bolt. Watch Ken Oconnors video. He explains it very well. I think the bottom 12mm. Closest ASE size is 15/32" if I remember right.

/\/\/\ correct, i just took my t-rock swinger, made to fit my works 400ex shock to the surplus, they had no metric pins, and the one mentioned above, wobbled slightly which will cause wear

i got my shock in today but im a bit confused on the top bolt tho.. 10mm bolt is all i need?

Yes, 10mm bolt is all you need. It is available at Lowe's in the hardware section/metric section(brown colored drawers). You will see it. Take your stock bolt in to guage how long/thick of a bolt you need(10mm obviously), but you want to watch where the threading is. You want the middle to be smooth(like the stock bolt) and then a small threaded section on the end.

was at lowes a few hours ago. they didnt have any. only 12mm ones. so im gonna hit up ace hardware tmrw btw i have kens bushings

Well that's odd. I'll go out and see if I still have the plastic package and item # in the garage. If so, I'll put it on here and they can look it up in their inventory system and find what bay/location it's in. Should be there in the metric section.

I got the 10mm bolt from a local hardware store. Hey, ken the bushings u sent me was a lil too tight but I banged the bushings in along with the bolt and stripped the bolt a little in the process.lol but I got it all in and everything is good. U also said a 12MM bolt for the bottom on ur vid but as we all kno that bolt is hard to find. U told me to use 15/32 which was good. I moved the drill around a bit to open it up a bit but its all good. Thanks ken I:I
