My neighbor has a 87 Honda 250x. Yesterday while riding he heard a pop from the motor and it quit. It had like no compresion at all... you coulod kick the kick starter and it would just fall right down. While it was in gear you could just push it with no problems. first we took the head off anf the piston wasnt broke and you could not wiggle it in the cylender. It was still tight. so we took the jug off and the rings looked fine. the only thing the didn't look right is the chain for the cam on the bottom of the motor was off the sproket. I don't know if it fell off when we took off the cam or if that was what the noise was. If the cam chain came off would that cause the motor not to build compresion??

on a 4 stroke, if your cam chain isn't on your not going any where, and for the compression could've been that the exhaust or intake valve was open a bit or alot, jist my 2 cents
