My friend has one and it's sweet I effin love it,but it's having issue where it runs one minute and dies the next. It's got gas, spark, carbs been cleaned, and we can't think of much else to try cept sit and scratch our heads.help please.
When does it die.... I had a 250x that used to die all the time when it got hot. Would start up fine and run fine until it got nice and hot then it would sputter and if I kept running it while it was sputtering, it would eventually die. It would not start until I let it cool down for a little. Turns out someone had put a overbore piston in the stock sleeve, and it would expand and parrially lock the motor up. Let it cool down and i'd be good to go....for a little bit. Ended up selling the quad because it pissed me off becasue I was trying to find the problem and nothing was working. About a week after I traded it for my blaster, I found out that it was in fact a 1mm over piston in a .25mm overbore cylinder. I don't know but its worth a shot if you say you have spark and fuel. I assume you have good compression.
I have no idea how that worked. I got the quad like that on a trade and messed around with it for a little and eventually got tired of it and traded it to a buddy. I think their thinking was that the cylinder was slightly worn so they just put a bigger bore piston to make up for a worn cylinder. I know for a fact that the part number on the top of the piston was for a wiseco 1mm over piston and then my buddy that I traded it to told me that that piston was the wrong one for that bore and was too big after he tore apart the motor and investigated.
