240cc kit doubts !

I want to get a 240cc kit (Vitos) on my Blaster but my mechanic told me it would probably ruin the gear box, sprockets, bearings etc, cause the bike wont be so reliable whit aded power.
Could Anyone with big bore installed give me some feedback on this ? Did youre quads "sofer" to much with more power ?

id guess your mechanic doesnt know what hes talking about .id find a new one becuase a blaster lower end will handle literaly three times the power of stock output, sounds like he doesnt want bothered with your build,the only thing they sometimes struggle with is big shots of nitrous at half track

The transmission in the blaster and banshee is the same one used in yamahas sport bikes. My r1 has about 180hp at the crank and I believe has the same trans as your blaster (i think your blaster may be 3 dogs and my R1 has 5). Your blaster trans and clutch will have no probs with the few HP increase that a BB kit offers.

The only thing you may have to upgrade is your clutch and/or go to stiffer clutch springs. Your transmission will handle a lot more power than you are planning to throw at it. Even on a bone stock blaster the transmission will only be reliable if you shift properly and maintain it.

All you need to do is install the 10% stiffer clutch springs and use the CORRECT! oil in the tranny and it's good to go, I still have the OE clutch plates in mine, I measured it when I put in the stroker crank and it was well within spec!

Could you give me some info on those 10% stiffer springs, i live in the Azores islands and its hard to find some parts here, a website where i could order some would be much appreciated.

vitos sells them also.If you are going to get the 240 just buy a complete barnett dirt digger clutch and they come with the hd springs.

he may not be much of a mechanic nut a blaster trans is no where near as strong as a banshee and a banshee is no where near an R1 to much power an your blaster trans may not like it

a blaster tranny is basicly the same as a banshee,and it is the same as an r1 on a smaller scale.

well if you bore and hone dont hold me to thses number they are rough figure's
my guess is on a bore and hone your still pushing around
20 to 22 hp
with the vito's kit you will be pushing
32 or 33 i belive

so its 10 bolt on hp your choice if its worth it..
