240??

Indestructible my ass....I've already melted a piston in mine....no leaks or nothin...those stock vito's pistons are poop.....the porting is sloppy as well on mine also...that will all be fixed soon though....

pretty sure its a vitos, just look at the casting flaws in the upper intake port. they are pretty bad for that. i have 2 and havent had any problems with either one but i will say be sure and get yourself a forged wossner or weisco (if there back in stock) piston for it. some have had problems with theirs but i havent. i would recomend sending it off and having a port job and rechamfer and mill the head or the head mod as some call it. I dont know much about that exhaust either but most would recomend an f7 right bend pipe.

I've melted one on mine too. Melted it down, blew rings apart and broke a connecting rod. But the cylinder wall is indestructible. You just have to get the Forged piston instead of the cast one.

also as far as i know the only piston sizes you can get for the big bore are the std 72mm, 72.25mm, 72.5mm, and the 73mm being the largest. this means as long as you dont have major scaring to the cylinder walls you can rebore up to 3 times.

That is a vitos 240 jug and head for sure. That casting flaw you see in the intake area is common on these vitos jugs. They are not the bad of a cylinder. They deffinately are not as good as an la sleeve but they can be made to run very good.It is basically a stock layout cylinder with the 12 port design. They need alot of knife work for them to run great but they can be made to run good. You also want a forged piston only,do not use a cast piston. It's just asking for problems.I say get it ported and run the dog out of it.

The vito's 240 cylinders have 195 stamped on the side of them. It could be one of those only way to really tell is to look at the ports on the inside

There are slight differences between the stock cylinder and vitos cylinder. You can tell from the outside you just need to know what you are looking for.Put the two of them side by side and you will see slight differences that set them apart.

ok so now that i know its a vitos 240 kit...what do you guys recommened for other parts to make this work real well? ie: carb, exhaust, reeds...and anything else looking for some input. what will give me gd bang for my buck with this?

34 or 35mm carb. f7 lrd dynoport cpi for exhaust vf3 reeds and k&n or uni filter and then get it ported by one of the techs on this sight (they all do great work everyone has there favorite) and that thing will be screaming

would a keihin 36mm carb work gd aswell or be to much?? i found one here in the city for a pretty gd deal. should i grab it? also what do these usually go for? thanks
