Picked up a couple projects about a month ago. One was running but not too well, the other not so much. Took the first one apart, cleaned it up for some paint, needed swing arm bearings/bushings as they were mostly dust. The owner before me had lost interest but had just put new brake shoes/pads & cables, two new rear tires, a Keihin 28mm carb w/twist throttle, and deleted oil inj. After reading all the very helpful info on this site was able to get it all put back together and jetted so it runs good. Made a new front bumper which is probably twice as heavy as stock but for the mostly trail riding we do it won't matter I don't think, also some heel guards, and a rear grab bar. Bought a used FMF from juiceboxxx26 (thanks again) so now this 2-stroke takes me back to the 70's whenever I let'r rip. Just got to get some pre-mix oil that smells like the castor oil from back then, I hear Maxima 927 might do it.
The second is waiting for a bore job. Have already put new brake pads, rebuilt cailpers. This one weirdly enough needed rear axle bearings, but the swing arm only needed to be cleaned up and regreased. Once I get it back up and running will delete the tors.
Thanks again for a great forum. I'll put up some pics when this 2nd one is finished, maybe before I get it dirty this time.
