1986 Trx250r Complete Rebuild

i was just talking about buying one of these. i need to find a decent one. how does anyoen feel about suzuki lt250's?
i like them. but in all reality an lt250r doesnt hold a candle to the trx250r. stock for stock teh LT250r is faster, it ends there. LT's have water pump problems, and some have frame issues, and dont handle nearly as well either. plus the trx has way more available parts. LT250r's parts are hard to come by....just have to look a bit harder. also an LT250r isnt worth what a trx250r is. i wouldnt pay 2k for one, unless it was WAY setup, i mean nice suspension (shocks and arms, rear shock and round carrier swinger, ext axle) ported, piped, bigger carb, reeds, nerfs....and in nice shape. a really nice Lt at best is worth maybe 3k but thats pushing it. trx's are worth a ton more.

a regualr run of the mill everyday trx you can buy for 2k. and those most likely arent in great shape....

So original or what guys? I wanted to do a metallic blue frame with white a-arms and swinger. Sound good or can someone point me in the direction of "gold paint".

i like the "original" idea myself...umm gold paint...i'll have to get you a pic of what the color looks like...its not like "blingy gold chain" gold its more like gold atv wheels gold....ill see if 370 has a pic of his, then have him or i post it...

thats the color you need bro....the swinger color........its like a bronzish gold color...you can get close with paint or powdercoat, im sure of it...

it's your quad why not do it teh way you want. sounds to me like the first thing you need is a set of engine cases..
