hey guys i have a stock 05 blaster and i need a new top end and i got 1000$ to spend what should i buy?
 
suspension!!! a-arms, shocks, axle,(that will make the bike much much more easy to handle) or for engine, power pros pipe, shearer pipe, toomey pipe, uni or k&n airfilter, remove the airbox and rejet the carb. port & polish, bore/hone or anything u want along those lines.... for some bling bling, a new bumper, some chrome stuff, and i highly suggest skid plates!!!!!!! pm me if yee got any questions
 
get a new pipe, some new reeds, p&p, bore/hone, wiseco piston, and your bike will really wake up! i also highly suggest u dont just put your money into the engine just yet because for speed and power you will need better suspension to get optimun performance....
 
for power and speed. Go with a 240 big bore kit with a + 3 vitos stroker crank then once you have all that send it all out to Angus Kennedy at Kennedy Powersports and have him port it. For exhaust go with either a Shearer or Power Pros AKA f7. For reeds go with Vforce 3

seriously?? lmao!!! power pros pipe is one of the best pipes for the blaster hands down! BTW trinity,ct and F7 pipes are all the same,made by power pros. Id pick a powerpros any day over a shearer. LRD on the other hand is good.
 
oh boy i foresee another pissing contest on which pipe to get. honestly, to the original poster, get whatever you can find a deal on..thats what i did with alot of stuff. if your looking for power, get a filter, reeds, bigger carb etc. but also

dont just listen to what one person says when they suggest a builder, there are many places and people that can perform engine work, machine work etc.

on this forum alone you can choose from flotek, kennedy, and wildcard. so when someone suggests one over the other, i would just do research and see what is most cost effective and to your liking. i for one am very happy with the work i got from flotek..but im not gonna sit here and preach to you that you need to use him

if i had some loot to spend like that all at once, i'd look into an arisal firebreather 240 kit, a power pros pipe, and 35mm airstryker
 
why the k&n filter? in the dirt bike world very few people run them, uni filter is the chioce for most....its been said that the k&n lets alot of stuff get past it.

well alot of people are cheap and dont buy the prefilter your supposed to run it with and also people are lazy and dont clean them properly..

ok now first off if you need a new top end i would send the cylinder out to one of the builders and have them bore it .001 over then after you get the machine going.
the very first mod you should get should be an exhaust now i know you have a grand to do stuff with but if you buy everything new youll blow threw that very fast so try to find a used pipe, depending on where you ride your going to want a different kind of pipe..
heres a couple examples::
IF YOU RIDE IN TIGHT/ TECHNICAL TRAILS the pipes i would choose would have to be "pro circuit, shearer, toomey, and FMF, i know im ganna get thrown under the bus for mentioning the FMF but it is deffinatly better then stock"

NOW IF YOU RIDE IN WIDE OPEN TRAILS/ SAND the pipes i would choose would be "power pros, LRD, fat bastard pipe, dyno port"

now after the pipe youll want to get a good quality air filter you usually have 2 choices either a UNI or a K&N.
now if you want a nice low maintenance, cheap air filter then get the UNI
but if you want to buy only one air filter the entire time you own the blaster then get the K&N but when you run a K&N you also have to run a prefilter to filter the small dust...

now the next thing i would get is a new set of rear tires cause those stock baloon tire just suck, alot of people get the holeshot's, maxxis, or kenda brand tires.

and finally you might have enough money left over to get the suspension worked out what i would do is get a different rear shock:
now if you weight around 175lbs or less then get the 250r rear shock
if you weight more then 175lbs then get the 400ex shock

and then for the front i would just get a set of used works shocks either for a blaster or a banshee pretty much the same...

and after you do all this it will get ride of most of the blasters weak points and youll have a GREAT all around machine
 
i run a power pros and am very happy with it and thats a true seat time opinion so i HIGHLY recomend that pipe. check out my avatar, that is some sick flotek porting there, just search on youtube my flotek blaster beats... and then make a decision. stroker crank, good reeds definately upgrade the suspension. dude $1000 into a blasty can be huuuuge. have fun!! lol, i lmao when i saw that. hey dude just giving the guy some options, i would expect a rider that has wildcard work do the same. what was i supposed to say? "look at my avatar and guess who did it?" and who wouldnt want to see real life action proof of someones work?
