03+ brake discs need help material

So does anyone know what the 03+ brake discs are made of.

if I lightly sand the mount part with some 600 to 1500 grit to clean the mount portion up will they rust quickly as in are they bare steel?

Any rotor that sits in water or gets wet constantly and doesn't get moved will rust.You will have no problems sanding them up for some better surface,just clean the surface though.In fact I do it to all my rotors but I use a da sander cause it is faster.lol rotors are steel btw

i'd hit them with more aggressive stuff than that, give them some bite
