i have a 01 blaster and when i ride it it will stall outta no where and not start back up it doesnt do this everytime just sometimes anyone help me please

Main jet in carb has trash in it if thats not it its the cdi box is fried I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MINE and i went through 3 or4 cdi boxes befor i figured out it was the main jet in the carb

i took the carb apart yesterday is the main jet the rod or do i have to unscrew the screw where the float is ? and wheres the cdi box

dont quote me on this but i think its the one that the needle goes into its in the middle of the carb but i suggest just empting a can of brake cleaner in the whol carb synce your gonna have it appart anyways the cdi is under the nose piece there will be 2 plastic boxes and its the one that has the indiviual wires and if i remder right theres abbout 5 or6 of them ITS ONT THE ONE THAT JUST HAS 3 WIRES or the one that has 1 blue wire and1 black wire

Once you take off the bowl on the carb the main jet(brass in color with a number on it eg:230) is sitting right there with a white piece of plastic (splash guard) around it.

What happens when the quad stalls? Does the engine rev high and then quit or bog out and quit? Does it do it at idle, when you have the throttle in, or either?

What do you do to get it started again? Let it sit for a while?

im riding it when it happens itll just bog out and then not start again i let it sit over night then sometimes itll start the next day no problem and also when im riding it and pull the clutch in it revs really high

Im gonna do that tonight but ive never done it before i dont wanna break or lose anything

Just take your time. I like to take pictures when I am doing things the first time just in case, to aid in reassembly. Also laying the screws, bolts, etc in the same pattern as you took them out can help too.

Here is a good DIY with pictures:

I just leave the TORS on the quad. Unscrew the big grey cap onto of the carb and then take the cable and slide out then remove the carb.

You don't have to do every step in that guide, just do what you are comfortable doing and it will be better than nothing.

I use Berrymans carb dip, 1 gal can $20 at Auto Zone. DO NOT soak any plastic/rubber in that stuff. Even spraying EVERY hole you see with carb cleaner/ compressed air will work. Be sure you remove air screw AFTER you turn clockwise to see how many turns to reset it, and pilot jet. Make sure you can see thru pilot jet when done. At this point it wouldn't hurt to check petcock screen in tank, maybe even flush tank.

These seem like symptoms of fuel starvation, or an air leak.

The petcock filter could be dirty, crap above the needle and seat, and/or in the float bowl.

If possible perform a leak down test to see if it is airtight.

^^^^^ agreed. Sounds like it's running out of fuel. Check that the vent hose on your gas cap is not plugged. If it's plugged, then air is not getting into the tank....which will cause the fuel to not flow.
