im gonna be racing woods, MOVHS to be exact, so i dont want any wider a arms, slammin into trees suck. maybe get some good used 450r shocks or something.

Hey guys just told me that they dont have atv titles in north Carolina. Is this true? Cause now im thinking its stolen. But he says he can write me a bill of sale.

I don't know for sure, only way to find out is to check with your local DMV. Take the guys vin number to the DMV and have them check to see if it has been reported stolen.

ATVs do not generally come with titles in the traditional sense. When you buy new ATVs from an ATV dealer you will receive a bill of sale for ATV proof of purchase and a certificate of origin. If you take out an ATV loan or bank loan, or arrange for dealer ATV financing, the certificate of origin stays with the ATV loan agent until the dept is paid.

So the certificate of origin is actually like a tittle, it is not needed to get the atv registered in your name. Most likely you will need the following to complete ATV registration: a dmv bill of sale with seller details(name, address), proof of having paid sales tax, the 17 digit ATV VIN number, a signed application and payment of applicable DMV fees.

We are not required to track ownership in North Carolina with the state (titles) so it's completely possible it's on the level.

The best way to tell if it's stolen is to copy down the frame number (VIN) and call the local Sherriff's office. They'll tell you for sure!

Agreed. Call and check the VIN # if you're worried, but it looks like the seller of the 400ex is on the level judging by the ad. You'll probably get a better idea when you see and speak with him in person. Some of the best deals out there can be found when somebody who loves his machine is forced to sell it due to life's circumstances. Looks like you're dealing with that situation here.

why would he do that?

well i just asked him if it would be ok if i could come down this weekend and we can trade and what not, and i asked if he was ok with my bike and 800 boot, witch is what he told me he would have to have. and he just asked for better pics of my bike and didnt respond to any of that. witch i can see he wants better pics of the bike to see if he really wants it or not. but its happened to me so many times everytime once i ask them when they wanna come look at my bike or when i could look at theres they stop messaging me.

Get his number and stay on his ass about it! If he really wants to trade you have to make it happen, don't annoy the crap out of him so he hates you though. :p Good luck with the trade though! Money always talks, so try and make it sound like a great deal for him. That's my .02

Yea if he takes the deal you got the better end of it because if he wants 2800 and youre offering 800 and a blaster it better be one hell of a blaster to be worth 2000!
