YFZ timing marks

There are 3 marks on the wheel but the last one is the timing mark. You will see 2 marks about 1/4" apart the first is when it fires but the second is the one to line up all the points for the timing.

I saw a couple about an 1/8th inch apart, I lined it up with the one on the left (the firing one?) It seems to run ok, but it backfires or pops out the exhaust just a bit when revving at a standstill. Sounds pretty good tho riding around, and pulls hard. I was about ready to chalk the popping up to the instantaneous richness of releasing the throttle. Now I'm not sure. It would be nice if the pics in the manual looked anything like reality.

I did rotate the whole assy after installation. I'm still a bit worried about it though.

Hmmm. maybe I'm OK. I talked to my local guy and he said they always line up with the H mark, looks like two lines about 1/8th apart with no crossbar. That's what I did and it runs ok. He said if it was off a tooth or more it wouldn't run. Since it runs like a raped ape, I guess I'm fine. Feel free to comment guys, if you have other info.
