i have labeled the thing that is stuck..ani ideas on how to get it out would be appreciated? i think its called the carb slide..not sure tho
http://belfast.gumtree.com/belfast/73/51867273.html heres the link...soryy didn kno how to upload pics

the last time i took of the carb i could not get carb slide down far enough (does anyone know ow i could get it down the ful way)
and so i started screwing it dow with a pair of vice crips, when i tried to start it i noticed that the throtle was very light & also the quad wud not start! so then i tried to get the top of the carb seperated from the thing which the idling screw is on, it wud nt come of.. any ideas

uhhhhh, why didnt you say all this in the other thread????? there is a little pin on the inside of your carb, and there is a groove on the slide the pin slides into to keep it straight. if you forced it on then that little pin is all jammed up in there, so pull it the f**ck out!!! the slide is probally already ruined.

so just use force to pul it out? how wil i know if i have damagd anything, what wil i have likley damaged? and how much would it cost?

it should move very easily and drop all the way in. you no doubt mangled up that little pin that is supposed to slide in the groove on the slide. mabey its still good mabey its not you wont know untill you get the slide out. you haev no choice, you forced it on now you have to force it off.

Ummm, yeah, that should have been a small sign that something was not right. Your carb is ruined. Get a new one, and let SOMEBODY ELSE put it back together for you. Carbs and VISE GRIPS don't go together.
Seriously dude, PUT DOWN THE VISE GRIPS AND STEP AWAY FROM THE CARBURETOR!

sounds like the needle wasnt going into the jet and wouldnt let the slide go down, i'm guessin you were doin this with the carb on the bike, <<<which i've always found to be trouble, way easier to work on/change jets with it off the bike, but i'd say you prolly fuk'd a few things up, bent needle/smashed guide pin/grooved slide, prolly junk now,
but the good news is i have a 34mm keihin sittin here witin on a 34mm intake and vf3's in the mail, so my stock carb is for sale, vito's tors removal cap, just competely rebuilt this summer (moose rebuild kit $20) and a host of different jets, theres a 320 in it now, and i know i have a stock one 230, and a 250, 290 and a 35 pilot too < $13, all genuine mikiuni jets, not the cheap sh*t, so hows $60 shipped sound, pm me if interested

edit.......... i just noticed your gumtree pics are from ireland, price is no good shipped to there, but my moms comin there in april if you can wait till then, hahahahaaaaa

Ya, I was thinking that too. Likely the guide pin for the slide AND the needle are jacked at this point.
I like that other guys post too "put the vise grips down and step away".
LOL.
Bummer man.
Always try to finesse it. It will pay off in the long run.
