Yamaha blaster 230cc bored

Pray tell just how you had it confirmed that it puts out 36hp.

If indeed it is 36hp, then you can expect at least %%mph on stock gearing, providing that it is jetted correctly.

What type and size of piston do you have? What cylinder are you running or what kind of port job do you have in your cylinder? Need more info!

36+ hp? With that modified troll porting you got yould be fast enough to travel in time.. Fmf slip on?

a yz 125 puts out like 39 hp.stock
a yamaha blaster stock is 17hp..add a pipe, then perhaps 20hp..stock cylinder can not be bored out to 230cc,it would half to be sleeved or a different cylinder..

Don't take these guys wrong, they're not trying to be mean, they like to joke. Sounds like though you are mostly stock. If you are bored 30 over, what that means is it has been bored .030 inches over stock size this is negligible and will not give you a HP gain. With just an fmf slip on and the stock header pipe and the k&n (lid on or off?) you might have added a hp. The gear ratio is really what determines your top speed though http://www.celicatech.com/luni/gearingcalculator.html

I have started my blaster with full choke and it hasnent been started for a week every time I try to rev the quad she doesn't rev!did I put the choke into soon?

Try leaving the choke on a little longer until it warms up some more.

Have you re jetted for the cooler weather?

I have got it sorted now it was some safety thing up by the clutch that had to be pushed in fully thanks for the help

My quad has been jetted to get the maxxum power out of it and it only had a top end rebuild in September and It was was rebuild by a professional mechanic and it has a genuine yamaha over size piston installed I only bought it 2 weeks ago so I am still learning about it

If you treat her right she'll run for a long time. There's a lot to be learned, and this is the perfect place to gain the knowledge.

Parking brake was on. The "safety thing" is so that you don't ride at warp speed with the park brake on and burn up the rear brake.

Yamaha doesn't make a "genuine yamaha over size piston" that will make it 230CC. If your "professional mechanic" had it bored .030" over and told you that made it 230cc, it's time to find a new builder.

We still want to know how you determined that is has 36hp.

I hope you have performed a plug chop, if not read up on it. When a 2-stroke is jetted for maximum power, like for racing, it is normally jetted on the lean side. Works ok if you only need your engine for one race, anymore than that and you can consider it toast. Just because you had the work done by a pro mechanic doesn't mean squat, there are hundreds of crap pro mechanics out there, for instance check this out http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/2000-blaster-resurrection.60470/page-5
