wtf just happened?

so lately ive noticed a weird noise in my engine when i let off the throttle, like if i rip in 3rd across my yard and let off while the engine is in high rpm i hear a rattleing noise coming from the bottom ( i think) of the motor. anyways, im riding yesterday and it seems to be smoking alot but im like "whatever" i mixed it a touch rich. well im heading up the road and all of a sudden i lose a good chunk of power but i was right in front of my house so i just pulled in and didnt try to ride it. it will still start but doesnt want to idle. if i put in in gear it drags the tires across the garage so there is enough compression for that and the kickstarter moves like it should. any ideas? im gonna do the usual carb, plug, reed check later today,just fishing for ideas.

is it still smoking alot? if tis smoking alot it could be gear oil getting into the motor, i forgot whats is breaked for that to happen,maybe someone else could add more to it.

Check your reed's there was a guy on kawasaki forum that had the same problem and it ended up to be his one side of his reed was broken off

ya reeds and if it is white smoke u have a bad crank seal

ya but do the reeds 1rst cause i f u have a broken reed u will have low compression

ya im not sure you can lose a lot of power when your crank seals are going out, but could be that.

oh yeah? hmmmm sounds like that may be whats up. the reeds are new and fine, nothing wrong with em when i checked. guess i need to look into some seals. ive heard its a pretty easy job..... :-/

Do a leakdown test, compression test,pull pipe and take peek at piston/rings.
