hey guys, im new to the site. i just bought a blaster yesterday. yesterday, gas did not come out of the overflow tubes on the carb, but now it does. also, it wont idle on its own. i have to keep on the gas otherwise it dies. i am looking for some input on the matter. my guess is stuck float. but i dont know if that will fix my idle problem. i saw that the carb has a mixture screw, but how about a idle control screw? thanks

first thing to do.. is pull the carb off, take the bowl off and clean the inside of the bowl, jets, and everyhtign else in it with carb cleaner.. than try.. 99% of the time a dirty carb will give you thoughs problems

you think that will fix my idling problem too?

very good chance it will... if seen some nasty carbs... had one i had to run the smallest trill bit i had threw it to get it cleaered out it was gummed so bad

trill bit....is that a special kind of drill bit lol :D

but yeah man give the carb a GOOOD cleaning maybe pick up a rebuild kit on ebay they are cheap

Alright thanks guys. It looks really gummed up on the outside so I assume even worse for the inside. I completely forgot that the float could be stuck, so one nice smack with a mallet, no more overflow. Now just have to take the carb off and clean it out. I really appreciate all the help

mallet huh?? normally a few raps with a screw driver will do the trick... lol.....

but definatly clean it out, i see soooo many 2 strokes for sale on craigslist for cheap that say 'ran when parked a year ago, or 2 years ago' 98% of the time clean the carb and they run like new again... gas will really gum stuff up when it sits, and even more when pre moxed gas sits for along time... cleaned acarb on a zuki lt230 that had 1/8 of pre mix sludge in the bowl, and the piolot jet i had to clean with a drill bit

yes lt230.. as in 4 stroke!!!! guy that had it owned all 2 stroke polaris's and a blaster so he thought it needed pre mix hahaha

Once found a piece of red gas can plastic stuck in my YZ's metering jet making it do the same thing. Check your tank for crap in it before hooking up your just cleaned carb to it!

yup, I picked up two non running mini china bikes and once I cleaned the carbs put in fresh gas (4 strokes) they ran fine... no carb rebuild kit. just clean the jets good, get all the gunk out of the bowl if it's bad in the tank the gas tank too.. then you should be better. the worst case scenario is boil the entire carb less rubber/plastic pieces in distilled water and get all the passages clear and you should be good.

I cleaned my pilot jets with a needle... they were small 4 strokes tho, so large 2 strokes probably have alot bigger passages for the jets...

i would clean out the carb check you float hight and check the needle seat for a worn grove in it if its not sealing or has a grove wore in it than thats your prob. its not turning off the gas flow to your carb so gas will over flow the carb causing it to come out the over flow hoses. good luck

i have the same problem except its leaking from this tube underneath my blaster my friend told me it was just gas that i didnt use and it was leaking out but it doesnt smell like gas. what is it
