Winter budget build

well just ordered a 04 brake hub for the banshee axle that should be in early next week and a carb with tors kit already installed. thankz yfz914 for the gd deal on them!

i also went out and got a small bench grinder to polish some parts, was looking for some help on polishing. first question is what do you clean your part with b4 buffing/polishing it? i have tryed searching this but for some reason my search isnt working on here. been having a problem with this computer for awhile now. thankz in advance for all the help/suggestuons.

just so ya know, your gonna hate that rear shock......i believe 3 members besides you have gotten this shock and hated it......you should have stuck to the main shocks, the 250r, or the 400ex

oh really, what were there complaints? that sucks as i just got that shock

I had one and it was bouncy as sh*t! I got rid of it and bought a 450r and it was much better. I sold the old shock to a member and told him up front it was super bouncy and i didn't know what was wrong with it. He later told me that it was blown, I kinda felt like a dick but i told him up front

just make sure you keep everything together like bolts etc...i lost a couple bolts from my first shee and had to take so off the blaster...not fun switching bolts in an out of both bikes haha

that is what i have been doing over the last couple nights, reorganizing my basement and trying to organize all the parts/bolts. already lost the air filter one lol

I am using a brass wire wheel on a bench grinder at work to knock off surface grime and rust. Seems to work pretty well but if you use a real siff wheel it may scratch some parts. Hope it helps.

ok thankz! im hoping to clean up my shocks and axle rear good but wasn't sure what would be best to clean them b4 polishing them. will try this.

yea sry i haven't had alot of time to do much work on the blaster. i'm hopeing to start prepping some parts this weekend for paint and maybe polish my rear shock not sure though.

just got a new rear plastic (black) rear grab bar and full pro circuit pipe thanks to nonpoint.

where does everone do there painting in the cold weater? i have a garage but it isn't heated and would really like to get everything done during the winter if possible. any ideas?

u want it to be warmer than about 60degrees Fahrenheit so what i would do is go into your basement or garage if its insulated with a space heater get it all warmed up then lay some pain and see how it lays. or bring your frame in the house and cover a room with drop cloths and paint away

right now i have everything except the engine and frame in my basement, my wife don't mind me painting down there or nothing i just didnt know how safe it would be?? with the fumes and all?? this would be ok though?

buy a cheap painters respirator from the hardware store, and take plenty of breaks, thats about all u can do considering basements normally dont have windows idk about urs

mine does have 3 smaller windows in it that i can open, i was thinking about putting up a couple old sheets and blocking off a corner with a window in it and paint in the corner with the window open and a fan blowing out?

so i got my banshee axle in the mail today, going to start polishing it tonight hope to have it done tomorrow night and will post some pics then.
