Will only an aftermarket muffler alter the exhaust sound?

Just as the title states...

Wondering if an FMF Muffler or any other muffler for that matter will change the exhaust sound... or do I need the entire exhaust set up?

A silencer in itself will change the sound some. There's a lot of things that will change the sound of the motor. A pipe will make the biggest change in sound tone wise. I prefer the sound of a right bend pipe like the F7.

Not to jack your thread Yamahablaster2k, but what performance exhaust system has the deepest tone? I know its hard with 2 stroke.

I have Seen allot of People Use Aftermarket Silencers with stock head pipes , Mainly you see DG , FMF Pro Circuit , What have you found ? , A DG Silencer with stock head pipe sounds allot better Than a Fully Stock Blaster , Here is A Video Of Member JonS Old 06 Blaster with a DG type 2 ! .

Wow, the DG silencer with stock head pipe sounds deep. Going to look up the DMC Alien exhaust now.
