Just wondering why alot of the bikes in FMX are still 2-stroke's with everyone else switching to 4-stroke's now??

and most of the freestyle quads are 4-stroke??

just thought i would ask on here to see if anyone knows why

alright i did alittle digging since i asked this on here and idk if any one is interested in the answer or not.... but

1. lighter bike
2. no gyroscopic effect of spinning internals
3. snappy-er in the air
4. sound cool
5. 2-stroke rules

You have 4 of 5 right.
ANYTHING spinning has gyro effect.
Biggest thing I would think is engine oil in a 4poke. Upside down would lose prime in oil pump, excess oil towards top of cyl/underside of piston.
2s is more responsive to raise front wheel with throttle.

Smokers don't sound like lawnmower.

Power to weight ratio and the ability to rev... and dont forget they are much more fun to ride.
I have had friend get off my bike with a big smile, and they have MUCH bigger 4 pokers... Everyone seems to underestimate the little 200cc

the oil is fine for flips...... u ever spun a bucket around your arm over your head?? it doesnt fall out, and from what i read yeah everything spinning has gyro effect, they just have more spinning
