My problem is the elders that hate on 450s.........just to hate on them.......then the kid's and/or people that have never ridden them will turn around and follow the pack and take after them. It's just denial and ignorance.

so people are ignorant for having an opinion you my firend are in the wrong country

all im gana say is this is a 2 stroke forum so there is going to be bashing about 4 strokes never said four strokes were slow 450's f**cking rip but my choice would be a 250r.
its a 2 stroke forum.dont see how your going to say someone has no idea what there talking about if they make fun of a 4 stroke on a 2 stroke forum.
if i went on a four stroke forum and they made fun of 2 strokes i wouldnt say you have no idea what your talking about. its someones opion you have yours i have mine.
you guys that always complain about the four stroke bashing why do you stick around then? not saying anyone should leave but why do you stick around if you are so above our blasters? would i ride a 450 damn straight but 250r would be my first choice.
this is my home forum and i dont like seeing that 2 strokes are obsolete bs preached on here. if 4 strokes make so much more power then why dont they take away the handicap and let the two strokes run with something higher then 250cc jmho.

You know, I ride my blaster all the time. I love two strokes and recommend them to a lot of people, but four strokes are not bad. I don't get why people get so uptight about an engine. It's different. Both work. Both work greatly. If you prefer one, so be it. If you like them both, great. People are so closed minded...

well then i must have miss read your post and i apologize for that then.
i will say a crack about a four stroke but they are not slow or junk get a low performance 4 stroke and it will run forever.
but imo they are not in anyway better than a 2 stroke.

a properly maintained 2-stroke will last just as long as a properly maintained 4-stroke...you show me a 4 stroke thats lasted 8 years on one build ill show you a quad that sat in the garage...

It's an ATV forum specifically for the Yamaha Blaster.....it's not a 2 stroke or 4 stroke forum......and that's part of the problem. Quite frankly, I rarely see people on 4 stroke forums ever talk about 2 strokes or bash them other than drag scenarios........most likely because they never have to just like people that own Blasters never have to bash Mojave's, 250ex, etc. because they are already superior to them. People always bash what they aspire to and/or feel threatened by as a self coping mechanism to resolve their internal conflict as possibly being inferior.

4 stroke lubrication systems and heat dissipation are vastly superior to 2 strokes. Regardless of your experience, it physically does not happen. I've seen a 2 stroke last 7 years before a rebuild......yes they can be reliable when maintained......but I can pull out some of the half rusted out ATCs out of my friend's uncle's barns with 4 stroke engines that are almost 25 years old and most of them run perfectly fine and we still bust them out from time to time.
