When you look at the 450 Supercross class lineup for 2012, the first thing that most likely comes to mind is the depth. It’s easy to find as many as thirty riders that expect to make every main event, as many as twenty riders with top ten potential and as many as ten riders with podium, and possibly win, potential. What does that mean? It means we should have some surprises at the front—and quite a few disappointed riders loading up their bikes when they expect to be racing a main event.

Look at the depth lining up for Anaheim I in the Supercross class.

ryan v is fast, but i'm unsure that he will pull thru for the win this time, i got my money on james stewart, hes one of my favorite riders, i doubt dungey will do anything this year... reed is another person who might win it, he is quick, i got my eye on the underdogs tho, cause it would be awesome to see one of them win

i'm predicting a comeback this year from stewart.

Record Monster Energy Supercross Television Package Expands Further with Coverage on FUEL TV - Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship

AURORA, Ill. (January 4, 2012) – Feld Motor Sports® announced today that FUEL TV, FOX Sports cable and satellite television network that features the exciting world of adrenaline and thrill-seeking sports will telecast each of the 10 SPEED broadcasts of the 2012 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, season as well as the six one-hour Supercross Lites Class races.

During the 2012 Monster Energy Supercross season, FUEL TV will provide coverage on Sunday at 8:00 p.m. ET, Monday at 12:00 a.m. ET and Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET. FUEL TV will re-air the 10, three-hour live SPEED broadcasts as two-hour highlights shows.

“FUEL TV is excited to partner with Feld Motor Sports this season to bring additional television coverage of Monster Energy Supercross," says George Greenberg, Executive Vice President and General Manager, FUEL TV. “With the success of the popular series ‘The Moto: Inside The Outdoors’ and strong ratings for the live AMA Outdoor series last summer, we know our loyal moto audience will be excited to watch these amazing races.”

The additional coverage on FUEL TV compliments the 10 live broadcasts on SPEED and the nine hours of coverage on CBS Sports, making the largest television package in the sport’s history even bigger.

“The Monster Energy Supercross television package is the strongest it has ever been. There are a record number of network hours on CBS, a record number of live shows on SPEED, increased ratings across both, and now the addition of programming on FUEL TV,” said Ken Hudgens, COO, Feld Motor Sports. “The fans, the teams, the manufacturers, and the entire motorcycle industry will benefit from Monster Energy Supercross’ record television package.”

In 2011, television ratings on SPEED increased 24%, which included eight live broadcasts, up two from 2010, and CBS Sports provided nine hours of network coverage that yielded a 21% increase in ratings.
Highlighting the international coverage was a 66% increase in Australia, home of former two-time Supercross Class champion Chad Reed, during Q1, besting Australia’s NFL Playoff coverage.
