Which carb to use...

So I plan on collecting parts to rebuild/build up my blaster this winter, and im wondering if I should invest in a new carb, and if so which size, or if I can use the stock carb and re jet it,

I plan on having flotek do a aggressive trail port-as for rest of the engine i will be using boyesen rad valves, toomey pipe, uni foam filter (eliminating the stock air box), a weisco pro lite piston, a hot rods crank ( i haven't decided if I want the stroker one or not)

you better decide on a stroker or not before you get it ported.

also with those mods you will need a bigger carb, a 30mm would do good.

you dont need a bigger carb but you it just woulnt be pushing the most power you can with the dinky little stock one id say get a 34mm 35mm and better decide on that stroker crank b4 you get the porting

just to add to the decide before you port, you want to do this because if you get a 3mm you would want flotek to port for that crank. without matching ports the power increase would be minimal. Or if u get a 4mm you would need to get the case treched to fit it, so make up your mind first

Ive been thinking, im going to use the hot rods stroker crank, stupid question, but what in the hell is head matching? is that getting the head ported to match? also are OKO carbs any good, my buddy has a flatslide one he said he would sell me (i believe its a 34mm)

ok they match the port heights in you cylinder to match the new, longer stroke of your piston. this way the port timing is correct. they also mill the head bc the piston will acctually be going beyond the top of the cylinder unless you use a spacer. the milling is much more reliable than a spacer with two gaskets. if it wasn't milled and you didn't use a spacer the piston would hit the head and distroy them both.I would buy no less than a 30mm carb but if you look in my sig i am running close to that set up and will be runnin a 35mm
