what exactly am i looking for the color of fual or the actual inside of the plug or the little bar that sparks help please?

inside the spark plug down at the base of the procelin thier will be a smoke ring. it should be cardboard in color and about 2mm high. you might have to cut the threads on the spark plug to read it correctly, its the best way to see it.

cut the threads not the procelin... remember you have to do a plug chop with a brand new plug.. if your not sure how to do it i will let you know how.

use a grinder or something in that nature to cut the threads off the plug...

after you do a high speed plug chop at the very bottom of the ceramic you will see a ring.. usually somewhere around 1mm to 2mm tall... the color tells you if your lean, perfect, or fat... I dont like cardboard color, i like a little darker... cardboard is for a 4stroke and is hard to achieve with cetain oils and fuel combos.

i also make 3 consecutive WTFO passes on the plug before i cut it..on a brand new plug with unleaded fuel, its hard to get a solid reading on a one pass brand new plug..

you can do the same thing for your mid range also with a plug chop... the only difference is that the ring will be higher up (middle) of the plug. so on and so fourth.

definately stick with the regular way but i have a friend who likes to check the electrode for a mark of some kind and uses that as his gauge and his engine work is top notch. anyone else do this?
