Hey guys I was just wondering what mods would be necessary to my blaster to beat a stock 400ex in a drag race? I know the 400's are clearly faster in stock vs stock form, but i just wondered how much it would take to get the blaster ahead, assuming equal rider ability on each machine.

make it a shorter race. The balsters are quicker but on the top end will get reeled in.

porting, head mod, and a good mid/top end pipe will have you beating him out so far.
but no matter what, the 400ex will still have more top MPH over a long run.

Dang, that's not what I wanted to hear, I was hoping it would only take a pipe and no air lid lol.

I have fmf pipe/silencer and pod filter with no lid, +2* timing advance, boysen 2 stage reeds. The motor has lightened fly wheel and counter ballance shaft, aggressive trail port with added boysen ports and triple exhaust drilled, port matched cases, weisco .5mm over piston and hot rods stock stroke crank, rechambered head, a bored stock carb and a molded shift star. The rest of the bike itself is all stock. I don't have it all put together yet so I don't know how it's gonna run. I just wondered where I'd be against my brothers 400ex

the 400ex goes like 5 mph faster
each with stock gearing.Although it is easier to keep a 4 stroke pinned forever.
Atleast that is the specs all over the web.

i had a 400ex and a blaster
and 5mph aint crap the blaster was much more enjoyable/unless you need low end power grunt for riding double climbing hills whatever the advantages are of a 4 stroke vs a 2 stroke:D
