What years Blaster bottom ends interchange?

We just got back from the local mechanic's shop and was disappointed that the 2000 Blaster my 14 year old Son tradedfor a few weeks ago is gonna need a new bottom end as it appears the rod has been through the bottom of the block at one time? it has been half ass repaired with some type of JB weld epoxy but everything still feels really loose and he doesn't want to waste our money putting any parts or labor into it!

We have a shop receipt from the P.O. that showed the cylinder had been bored nd a new piston installed in March '11 so hopefully the top end will be OK?

We are in Flemingsburg, KY and looking to find a whole Blaster for parts or just buy the bottom end I guess...What years are interchangable?

All bottom ends are interchangeable. The only real difference is in '03 and up they changed the stator from 4 wires to 5 but the bottom end itself is the same
