What is the best brand 2-stroke oil out there? Iv'e heard of bellray, amsoil???Today, i was suggested to get Motul 2-stroke oil at my local atv shop and was wondering if it's a good brand. any opinions would be appreciated.

I use Spectro..at 42:1 without any issues in my RM250. I am "Old School" and have run spectro all my life. READ THIS...Golden Spectro Two-Cycle Pre-Mix Blend is the two-cycle engine lubricant that built our reputation. Probably the winningest oil out there. Because we significantly reduce excessive solvents (present in most two-cycle blends), running Golden Spectro® Two-Cycle Pre-Mix Blend at leaner ratios provides a higher level of detonation protection, stops plug fouling and smoking. Use according to motorcycle manufacturers’ recommendations, or at 50:1; this product exceeds API TC test requirements.

on an air cooled engine you want a premix oil that contains some castor to reduce wear/heat and as a side effect castor makes power ,it burns a hotter BTU than gasoline does ,the high ratio full synthetics like amsoil dont have this and have a much higher flash point they dont burn well at lower rpms and most blasters probably dont rev over 8500 rpms evenetually it can lead to gunking up your crankcase and ports ,simply put ..they arent as good IMHO

i run amz oil, i know guys that swear but amz oil.. the intercepter is supposto be good for all 2 strokes liquid and air cooled... my blaster runs damn good on amz oil intercepter at 32-1.. a little rich but i rather change plugs than pistons. ( note .. been runnning the same plug for the last 15 hours of mixed riding)

Amsoil interceptor at 50:1

Ive went through a set of tires and had my banshee for 5 years and still have great compression. I ride the hell out of it too.
