Debating wether or not i want to rebuild my 89 blaster engine thats bored .20 over, or try to throw something bigger like a warrior or banshee engine in.

So question is, which engine swaps in the easiest with very little work?

Well I have the IT465 in mine which is close to the same as the YZ465 except slightly smaller carb and longer gears. I know its not the easiest but its got to be a close second. With this engine the rear mount fits the blaster frame perfectly. The other mounts will have to be welded onto the frame. Its not as easy as the dt200 swap would be and would warrant other mods, mainly frame gusseting, but I am pretty sure I make a lot more power/torque than a dt200 ;)

its sooo simple, want a blaster, swap YOU into a blaster! want a banshee, swap YOU onto a banshee... you see how this works? you said "Easiest Swap"

you ride that on a stock swinger. damn that must be a helluva ride

For now, yes. I picked up the blaster a little over a month ago with the swap complete. I have ridden it once since I got it but now it is under the knife. It was a helluva ride. It wont be ridden again until the exhaust is done and the frame is gusseted. ;)
I can't wait to get my swing arm extended by tater plus all my other future mods.

lol may be saprised as to how much more hp but your tq would be through the roof. dts will turn 9000+ rpm no problem which the hp really likes. lol pinks lets goo

Through a little googling I found that the DT has 31 horsepower stock which is a huge improvement over the stock blaster engine. The 465 has 50 horsepower. I haven't found anywhere that mentions the torque ratings but the butt dyno said that it has a lot ;) I think the only way the 465 would turn 9 grand is on its death march lol

Yeah, the DT200 is a screamer making hp at about 9000-9500rpm

The formula is HP=Torque*RPM/5252
so it would be:
Torque = 5252 * HP / RPM

So the DT200 would be putting out 17-18 ft/lbs (not its max, but...) of torque at that rpm.

The 465 is probably making its 50hp at 6000-7000? (just a guess)
So it would be making torque somewhere in the 40 ft/lbs range.

An interesting fact is that at 5252rpm HP=torque, so that if you make your max hp under 5252 you will make more torque than hp! Actually it is just a number, the two have a fixed mathematical relationship. It is us humans (mainly males) that are fixated on the numbers.

Considering that 465 would not weigh 20 lbs more than the DT200 motor, as fast as that little DT/Blaster is, my money goes on the 465...
