I'll talk sh*t about the Trail Boss!, the GF has one, it's a TURD!!!, even she moved up to a Scrambler 500, it'll stomp the sh*t out'a the Trail Boss!!!
I've put a Jardine RT-4 pipe, Comet 103 HPQ clutch and jetted it and it'll keep up with my Blaster if I don't shift out of 5th gear!
I even tested one of the Outlaw KTM 525's and I'm still not impressed with any Polaris!

never said there fast, buf if you want something comfortable to ride, there nice, and if you need to put it to work it is nice
looks like a POS, hahaha, i would have fixed the dirt bike before i traded it for a polaris, hell i would drop a grand into my bike before i would ever trade a yama for a polaris
ya i have never been a fan of polaris. i remember my grandpa bought this sh*tty polaris quad, i think it was a 250, but it was 4x4 and it was soooooooo sh*tty, the suspension was like having metal bars welded in there.
Speakin of which we used to have a 86 suzuki lt250 i think it was.
but it didnt have a shock in the back . that was horrible.
My uncle had a 250 quadracer but he got rid of it. i woulda bought that off him!!

the guy you got it from is on chitownracing..
change the plug on it.. br8es same as our blasters... also the choke works like a snowmobile choke, if its been sittin or its cold out, flip the lever for the choke all the way to the right than fire it, once it starts flip to to half ( sticking towrds you when your sittin on the seat) and let it warm but before you try and ride it, like i said there to much like asno mobile.. only nice thing is you dont have to re jet them for temp changes like our blasters... my wifes was all original except the the paint job, never re jetted, and all stock, i kinda miss that thing

BULLSHIT!!! as long as there 100% stock, stock pipe stock intake and air box, and everything is in tact the way it came from the dealer you do not have to re jet them.. im willing to bet that one your buddy has was never rejetted.. look at the screws on the bottm of the carb for the bowl. i bet they looks like they have never ben touched!.. i know first had you dont have to re jett them..
they even have anice little light on the dash that tells you when the motor is to hot
I have a 2000 Sportsman 500 and it's a great machine. Never had problems with it. Plow snow all winter and mud bog all summer. Easy to ride so all my lame ass friends that can't use a clutch can ride it. I'm very happy with my polaris.
Polaris makes their stuff right here in the USA too. Gotta love that. Maybe Can-Am does too? I'm not a fan of a fully auto clutch though, I like shifting and clutching.

i do to but there great for 'work' or learning... anyone that has every tryed to tow something with a manual clutch on a quad knows it sucks!!! and auto is the way to go.. there a great machine to learn on.. and if you clean it up you can sell it for what you paid for it eazy!! the older trail boss's go for 800-1200 around here all day long for a 2x4 one
Hey the guy who had it before me put a bigger jet in it, I gave him the stock one and told him to put it back in...Its bored .030 and is a fresh top end.
And the bike ended up needing a rod and piston like I said when we were there.lol
The motor is at a shop getting a crank rod and piston put in and it also need new seals in the forks. SO he did not get a bad deal, If I did not have a friend that does this for a living Just the crank kit is $534 and the piston would be $190 so he would have been $1000 in the hole before he could ride again after forks and motor was done. If you need anything let me know he still has my number.
