What is this sound from my blaster???

I say thats piston slap..... or worse...... You better pull it off and fix it before the whole thing grenades, especially since its been outta spec for a year and a half!

that would be the first time i have ever heard of a year long piston slap with out blowin up though. I think it was noober had that weird click goin on in his motor and it was the idler gear rivets wearin out. could just be an extreme case of that. have you tried pinpointing where the sound is comin from by using a solid piece of metal to your ear and touching it to different parts of the motor while making the noise to see if you can narrow it down.

i didnt listen to the vid, but i'd pull both side covers and listen again, to rule out stator or clutch side noises

since awk said that make sure the screws that hold the magnets in the flywheel are all still there

I sealed my daughter to keep sh*t of there with form a gasket, same on a 660 raptor we had, try to do preventive maint when possible.

I would try short jerks, back & forth to isolate the actual issue, just a quick 1/10th of a turn one way & a quick return in the opp direction.

Also something sitting on top of the piston when jerking it through the plug hole, like a pencil, eraser side sitting on top of piston with slight pressure would tell the tail.
