What is this piece

wtf is this piece my kick start wont work and when i took it apart this cam out

It looks like the piece that goes from the kickstart into the case to keep spring tension on the kick starter... It is broken

you need a new kick starter spring. they are cheap.

yea i just looked it up.. i have to buy five of them for $4.88. it isn't bad. but im going to see if a local place has one.. there only 1 for a 100mile radius so if they don't have it ill order it... thanks for the help

Ya what timsyfz said, but myquestion is where is the other half. Did you get it out or is it still on the kick starter.

i know what that is well i dont really know what it is but i know where it goes its not a part of the kick start spring it goes on the groove next to the gear.. well i guess it is a spring because it is the thing that pushes the gear to the idler gear so you can kick start it

yea i found the other half... some of the gears on the inside of that case have so scraps on it for that spring rolling around in there. but they look ok.
