what is the best type of chain to get?

i am desperately needing a new chain and sprockets. i ride on tight trails and mud. im pretty sure i should go with a 13:40 for sprockets for more low end power but dont know what type of chain to get. im going to buy a kit online with the sprockets and chain. not really looking to spend more than $100 total. thanks in advance

definitely get an o-ring style chain for that kind of riding. the sprocket combo sounds good too if you're running 20" or bigger tires

I have a primary drive o-ring and it's wearing very nicely. It was about $70 for the kit (Chain, both sprockets), if I recall.

I can say primary drive has been great for me. I ran it on my 22s and my 20s.

I like the new RK X Ring chain. I chose it because it had the highest tensil strength i could find and i wanted the best.

well i ordered the primary drive o-ring chain. it was about $70 on amazon
