What is an easy and simple way i can test to see if my pump is working. On my buddys quad his motor seized, we just figured it was because it was old/ or not built right but how do i know if it wasn't because it stopped getting oil?

I just need a way to test this pump.

im thinkin you could puul your plug wire so the bike doesnt fire, then pull the feedline off the carb and give 'er a couple kicks, it should be pumping oil out the end of the hose

simple.... pull the crank case off remove that cover inspect the pump/gear and see if them gears are still there aren't missing teeth, chunks, shreds etc

I would never run anything higher than 32:1 in a small air-cooled engine. my manual says to premix some fuel @ 32:1 (they used yamalube oil for injection systems) and to put some in the tank, then take the oil injection output off of the carb and place it in a measuring cup. once this is done you are to start the engine and measure how much oil is pumped by the injection pump over a period of a a few minutes. i have not read this section in some time so i am unsure of the exact details but this is the basics of the process. if your output is higher than specified in the manual then you are fine. i also recommend getting a manual or at the least reviewing one of the online manuals to get the process correct.

Due to the ratio of oil to fuel, it's VERY hard to measure.
If you are even lightly modded with just a pipe, lose the oil injection and mix.
You'll sleep better.

I run 32:1 or 30:1 cause i dont race and like to ride wide open and some steep hills, from experience its been a nice mix! A little smoke and not too much .. If its not smoking then i get worried about my mixture... I would never trust the oil injection blaster system, after i tore one apart their too symplistic with a great ability to fail. Mixing is the way to go.. IMO, but i dont think many would argue that point.!!! Oil offf is the best thing i ever done for longevity of my bike..

REMOVE IT! my oil is bypassed, and the motor is removed i just cant get the gearshaft out. can someone provide poics or a detailed how to

Take the oil cover off and start un-hooking the BS... Do you have a service manual? Just disconnect the gear and whole pump system... I think their might be a DIY in the DIY section. Check first and do it right but theirs not too much to it..
PM if you have any questions and i will search my service manual for ya if ya need it.. !!!

That might be a little lean.

you got that backwards...
the amount of oil in the gas affects your jetting and when you run very little oil that makes your jetting richer because your getting more combustable gasoline in the motor because you took away some oil...
make sense now??
