what do you guys think?

it will make starting a true PIA and in my opinion not worth running i have the diy one in mine but soo turned it back to stock

What do you guys think about the +4 timing advance? Is it worth doing? What will it hurt or gain with my mods? Just wanna know the goods and bads before i do it.

It's a cheap way to get a little bottom end out of a relatively stock blaster. Good mod on the cheap but once you really get the engine tuned quite "hot" it can be problematic.

Is this on a quad that has been built? Increasing the timing beyond stock will, in itself, not make starting hard. Increasing timing beyond stock can have the adverse affect of making a hot built engine predetonate some making restarting troublesome...

wow i didn't know how it would affect if it werent ran properly. is there any diff using both the advance flywheel key and advance timing plate.

So with basically a pipe being my only motor mod, would it be a good idea to try?

No, they are functionally identical. Both move the relative position of the ignition system and crankshaft throws towards each other, This means the spark happens "earlier" during the rotation no matter which part was actually moved (key or plate).

If the engine was built on the "safe side" a mild timing advance can still be employed but an engine that is built to the max will already be right at the raggedy edge of heat generation and predetonation anyway. Timing advance could send it over the edge.

I did it to mine and I can definitely see it in throttle response and quicker revs. No overheating or spark knock. Been running pretty hard in 85-90 temps. Castor 32:1
I say try it, if you don't like it or have issues, try +3 or +2. Never know what might work best for your ride. Or don't try it at all. Pretty simple mod. Up to u man.

With just a pipe designed for low/mid and re jet, a +4 timing mod will give a little more power at the bottom end.

Not sure about what will happen with a Pro Circuit as I am not familiar with their properties.
