What do you do for a living?

I'm a jackass of all trades and a master at none cuz there's always something new to learn, but what I get PAID for doing is being a local roadie, or in professional terms, a Stagehand. I'm a union apprentice electrician for all the major event venues in RI, so basically if a concert or a broadway show rolls thru the venue, we dump the trucks, build stages, run cable, hang lights, build trusswork, hang speakers, assemble backline (band gear) run spot-lights, and then break it all down and pack it back in the truck. Greatest job ever. I meet people from all over the country and the occasional celebrity. Best of all are the fringe benefits, sometimes I end up with some pretty cool swag like a set of drumsticks or guitar picks, all depends. Oh and the money I make is insane :D

i want to be a mechanical engineer

Good choice, lota good money in that field. I gotta wait to see what happens with my current job and my schedule. should know by the first part of Dec. Then I'm gonna start taking some classes to become a Design engineer. If I dont get layed off (companies not doing so well) Im gonna take some night classes part time. If I do get laid off then I might just get a pt job and go full time. either way it'll be worth it.

x2. Mechanical engineering ftw, if you can get through it. mechanical / aerospace are the only 2 that make more starting average than industrial....which is what im goin for.
