so i thought i heard a weird "whirring" noise in my motor the other night so today i take off the stator cover to see if its filled with busco beach sand (wich it was not) and my exhaust to get a peek at the cylinder and while rotating the flywheel around i hear a tiiiiny "tink" as the rings drop below the exhaust port. mabey this has always been there i dont know but what are everyones thoughts on that? its quite small but you can hear it if you are listening..

it isn't there on my quad, i'd double check everything and make shure that u ain't gonna blow the top end, idk what the hell it is, but i better get it fixed for ur b day party, haha

well common opinion is that its about to blow but i dont uderstand how that can be.. i know im rich on my jetting, no airleaks and i check my plug religiously.. man im screwed if this thing needs work.. its already .70 over.. :( :(

well, that about f*ckin sucks bro, sounds like its time for a firebreather 240!!!!

excessive ring gap maybe? was that checked when you put her together?

so long as the ports are chamfered, i don't think it'll be that big of a deal

No answers here but def want to know what the prob turns out to be. good to catch it be for something blows up

yeah my thought exactly.. i know my machine and noticed teh noise immediately but it was very faint, nobody else even could hear it really they were looking at me like i was hearing sh*t.. ive got a vid uploading to help.. i guess my next question is what do i do now? rings? hone? bore? what??

ok here is a sh*tty, blurry vid but you can see the piston going up and down and hear the noise so it gets the point across...

lmao thats awesome 305.
But serously nooba, if worst comes to worst i have a stock stock stock jug that i can sell ya for cheap.

* swich the rings, put the top on the bottom and bottom on top and see if it still does it. idk just brain storming

thanks for the offer man but i dont think i could rock a stock cylinder ever again lol, no offence to you stock guys.

thats one odd sound bro, did you check to see if the piston is on correctly? warping in the cylinder and rings? i mean it could be numerous things. but first check the compressions and plug.

Well not to give you bad thoughts, but on one of our bore jobs they did not chamfer the exhaust port properly, and we ended up catching a ring on it, and eating the cylinder, and piston quickly...

It got ugly immediately brother...
