hello guys new question for you all. if the voltage regulator was bad would it take all the voltage out of the line. i went to check the wiring harness at idle i had 9v at the first yellow red plug, then my next check was at the light which had none but knowing that i had voltage i dug into the harness and got to where the brown blue wires connect to the yellow red and it didnt look right but i just checked the diagram and it is supposed to be there. so any help on the regulator would be great.

thanks again

joe

ok i may have jumped the gun on my question above where the wires split to the switch i found the yellow red cut and a black ground cut. now off to solder them back up. but a new question if you guys see this he had disabled the key switch would this have caused this i dont care as i have the key but still trying to figure out why things were done this way

thanks

joe

The keyswitch and handle bar ignition switch are both "shorts" to the ignition system. Pulling either one out of line will not stop anything from working, including the engine even when you want it to!

My brother in law specifically did not want a key switch on his blaster (don't ask me why, he's just wierd like that) and all I did was pull the switch out of the wires it plugs into and tape them up against the harness.

thanks for the reply i have power now to the plugs at the light and it is a new light, but at idle im not getting it to light up even with a little rev. im going to wait till i have someone here that could tell me if its on or later tonight to see if im just going crazy probably the last one but who cares. i at least made my goal of it running by my birthday. its only been in the garage since last fall.

thanks
