So I have the chance to get a Vito's 240 big bore kit it's on it's last bore now with only a little life. Can I get it re sleeved an is it worth getting it reslevved it's in a trade so I'm getting it for 60 bucks basically so it's way cheaper but is resleeving a good option a workable option?

I've Heard can Re Sleeve them for under 200 , But Have not heard Actual Prices For sure , I Would Say try and Get it , Allot Of People Like the Vito's !

i offered a former member on here $45 for a vitos 240 that needed resleeved, as thats all i thought it was worth, after buying the cylinder, sleeve, having it installed, shipping to/fro the builders, a new piston/rings gaskets ect.
i could have just bought a new vito's cylinder.
he thought it was worth $100, LOL
the deal did not happen.

I've had mine resleeved. Sleeves around $130, sleeve installed about $100, piston's $160 plus gaskets.

If you do the math, Awk's about right on the price of a "resleevable" big bore cylinder.

Sleeve= $130
Install= $150
Gaskets= $50 (good gaskets)
Piston= $125

That's $455 and you either have to find a local machine shop that can resleeve or ship it somewhere.

If you figure a purchase price of $60, you'll have $515 in a big bore kit with no portwork. Basically, if the purchase price is much more than what you're talking, it's not worth it.

When I spoke with my machine shop, yacking about resleeving.

Since the blasters stock cylinder, is not one that can be bunched out, but drilled out. in order to replace the sleeve.

He said, cost more to do that, then just to find a cylinder in good shape. I asume about the same type of senerio.

Unless someone is willing to to spend a couple of hours on re-sleeving, for cheap. Its onna cost ya.

That would be my guess, why I see so many sleeves out there on ebay for re-sale.

Agreed on not likely worth it. I've checked the prices on parts, this weekend, and you are within $40 of the price of a new BBK for Vito's. The only exception I can think of is if the BBK has had desirable port and head work.

The head has been milled
fully ported.
its for bikes that don't run I have so in the trade I get with that works front shocks that need recharging (both)
A new dg pipe (that's what I run now awks seen my pipe its seen better days huh?) fmf silencer
An a 36 mm carb to run the bbk with all things considered I should put is it worth it ill have a ported bbk with a milled head (said it held 160 psi) the 36mm carb to exchange my stock with the pipe an a set of works fronts for my parts bikes... with that considered should I make a deal?
Oh an I'm missing the upper pipe mount for my blaster the one holds the top of the expansion chamber. That's thrown in.

if that cylinder is blowing 160+ psi, that doesn't sound like it needs a sleeve...yet, and there very well may be a good many hours left on it ? even if it is the last bore ?
if you take care of it properly, may just last you a good while

He said an I quote " it has a little life on it, it will need to be resleeved". But I think he was saying when he ran it it pushed 160 psi he got read of his blaster an got a shee now so he's up for trading nis old blaster stuff.

That is a salesmans way of saying that it is plain wore out!:(

I have to make the deal tomorrow. Good deal yes no
My side:
2 honda xr's 1 80 1 100
Missing a few odds and ends neither run completly apart( how I bought them)
Not sure extent of damage but there really old as well.
My gain:
Dg expansion chamber with fmf powercore 2 silencer. Upper pipe mount included witch I'm currently missing.
Works front shock with resivour clean need servcing.
Ported vitos 240 bbk with milled head. ( needs resleeving as I found out that's not cheap but does save porting costs)
36 mm carb need to figure brand out but I can't use my stock 26mm on it.

I no trades are a matter of personal gains an losses I really perfer bettering my blaster witch needs a rerebuild now anyways so I will be either rebuildimg a 240 vitos or stock blaster cylender. My top end is shot!

Good trade worth while yes or no?

i'd do it if i were you, unless you have 2 children you forgot to mention that would fit those old XR's, they are no good to you, and sound to need a ton of work ?
i know you didn't plan on riding them at your size did you ???

No sir go em extemly cheap an figured I could rebuild or do something with them but they have a lot of work that needs to be done... a lot there's nothimg together at all I might run into problem finding parts an hardware so I have been putting it off an so I tried selling an tnis is my best offer.

I also have no tittles or bill of sales.
I'm pretty sure I'm gonna trade I'm gonna give ken a call tommorrow an see how much resleeving will run me that's joe.
