I spent a few weeks on the R and D using the Vito cylinder
The package I built for a member of this site has these mods
Vito big bore cylinder with my trail port specs
Vito head cut to my trail design, and no its not just the gasket surface cut, completely redesigned head
38mm carb,(142 main jet) and if anyone says that carb is too big, they have not done their R and D work. Its a 248cc engine, the factory puts that size on 125cc motors.
V-force reeds
Kennedy custom forged piston that will be available with all my engine packages
Hot rod 4mm crank or 61mm
This package is the bad ass, I still need to repeat the test with the 3mm crank.

I am assuming that this video (wherever it went) is almost the same build as found at this link.

and that is the exact powerband that I am looking for @45 whp..yey! very linear and not peaky--look at that torque curve! I imagine that the 38mm carb gives it a more top-end biased powerband that looses some in the low to mid-range. What are your thoughts about the PSI/Gensis Big Air Carbs from what I have read they seem to be the "Cats Meow". here is a link to their site
Welcome to PSI BIG-AIR Carbs Motocross & ATV Division
I was thinking of using them as I hate jetting and they make it easy as there are no jets to change and they seem to use technology to blend both a small and big carb into one unit.

thanks mr. kennedy for the carb info I had quite a battle on here with alot of people on that being way to big.

what exhaust were you running and how do you think a ct cylinder will stack up
instead of the vito's

angus weren't you suppose me a few thrusday's ago lol

where did the vids go? and there was no pipe mentioned...im guessing maybe a shearer?

the vids dont work for me... says they are no longer available and i click on it, says page is unavailible

yeah tanks im running 14 40 gearing with 18s lol and i just dont have the torq unless powerband with my mod 240bb but im hopeing to see if a 3 mill or 4 mill would take care of the torq

its got major balls just when im in the sand pits i get to the top in third and dont have enough to whip it around like i want to

re-gear- that is the cheapest way to gain torque. i had the same problem in the dunes so i went with 13/44 gearing which is a 10% reduction. if you have two sets of sprockets and chains then you can change your gearing for sand and for hard-pack.
