Have been having idling issues since rebuild. Mr Oconner originally found my inner reed cage loose as a goose and falling out because I had the reed spacer on after the cage (ya I'm an idiot). So we switched them around and sealed them all up, air leak tested and then all the crap happened with the slide on my OKO peeling the chrome off, so now that that problem has been solved, by awsome customer service from carb parts warehouse, I have been dialing in on the jetting. I've been having a hard time getting the idle jetting perfect, so off came the carb and I checked my reed cage again, to find some play in the inner cage , Not alot and no in and out just up and down a smidge. I bought this reed assemble off a local guy and had no idea there is another piece (cone shape piece like the V3 have) that I should of gotten and I would of never had that problem. When I removed the reed cage and looked at it there was a good 1/16 inch space all the way around where the inner cage seats on the outer part, well after dicussing with Awk, and Ken, Freek, and Noob- I decided to try and seal the inner cage to the outer with RTV. See the problem is if you use a gasket between the carb boot and the reed cage the inner reed cage will flop around and your gas, oil, air mix will leak past the reeds, thus giving me my problem, I still haven't figured out why it doesn't effect any other circut but, when I sealed it all up I had no problem getting idle dialed in took me two tries and it's running good.I:I
So if ya get V2's try to get the outer cone that goes with it and you should have no problems, otherwise you'll pull your hair out, and kill your liver trying to find out what the hell is going on. I:I
