What's the point of having a V-8 in such a small chassis anyways? Sure, its fun to watch a couple passes, but there's just too much power to control. In theory it looks good, but if he can barely manage to run mid 10's, its time to ditch the V-8 and go back to a peppy inline-4 that'll spin to 15+ K and really perform.
with that time i dont think he burned the tires off all the way down the track anyways. it was probably just smoke from the initial burnout since he heated the tire up so much in the first place.
